Grand Slam at the RightOn! Sessions

Grand Slam was formed in 1984 following the breakup of Thin Lizzy. The iconic Phil Lynott, bassist and vocalist of Thin Lizzy, decided to start a new project and gathered talented musicians to bring this new band to life. Despite its brief initial existence, Grand Slam left a significant mark on the rock scene, although they didn't manage to release a studio album at the time due to difficulties securing a record deal.

After Phil Lynott's death in 1986, the band remained inactive until 2016, when original guitarist Laurence Archer decided to revive the project. Since then, Grand Slam has released new albums and returned to the stage, keeping the spirit of the rock that defined them alive.

The band stopped by the RightOn! Sessions and showed us why they’re one of those groups that don’t need an introduction. Raw, straight-up rock that connects instantly. No gimmicks, no fluff—just well-played music with tons of style.

During the session, they played with real attitude—songs that make your head nod without even thinking about it. A sound that blends classic rock with a modern touch, always with that authentic vibe we love. And yes, of course, they were rocking our RightOn! straps—because if you're going to play with energy, you need a strap that can handle it.

It was a real pleasure having them with us. Great vibes, great music, and real people doing what they love most.
